A brevet is a long distance recreational ride that is timed. Brevets are offered in progressively longer distances in order to prepare you for the challenges of the longest events such as the Paris Brest Paris Randonneur (PBP). A brevet tests your endurance and provides a unique opportunity for self discovery.

Depending on the distance, our events will travel northward though Marin, Sonoma and Mendocino Counties. The routes will vary from flat to hilly and will include segments of short frequent hills (rollers) as well as include several long hill climbs. Events in the past included the challenges of very strong head winds (gusts to 40 mph), rain, dense ground fog. You can read past events participants' reports by clicking on the linked names on the Brevet Results pages.

San Francisco Randonneurs' brevets are minimally supported events on unmarked roads to keep costs low.

These events are not for beginners.  The courses are hilly and can be windy.  There will be night time riding in the longer events.   You should have completed several century or double century cycling events in the six months before starting a brevet.

Hello All,

The ACP Calendar for 2012 requires RUSA to submit entries for US ACP events before October. To allow the RUSA Board to review calendars, RBA's need to submit their entries earlier in September. Based on the work of our Fleche, Populaire and Double Brevet Weekend coordinators, our 1000km committee and Max Poletto who has designed the Old Caz and is working on new routes, and in consultation with the RBA's in Davis, Santa Cruz and Santa Rosa, we have submitted the SFR calendar for 2012:

Hello Riders,
Since the last SFR Voler Jersey order, SFR has grown in numbers. While there is clearly some interest in a new order for the existing SFR Voler jersey design, there hasn't been a specific request to the full club to express interest.

Before moving forward, I would like to assess that interest to see if there is enough of that to meet the minimum order threshold.

Please let me know if you are interested in ordering the current SFR Voler design for jerseys, vests, wind jackets, thermal jackets. Please indicate what and how many you might order if you can please, and send your message to Please enable JavaScript on your browser.

Please note that prices are not yet determined and would be subject to final order numbers. Also, no delivery date can be known at this point.

This is only a request to calculate interest in order to take the next step.
